Zachary J. Frazee is a professional dancer, choreographer, and teacher based in Rochester, NY. He received his BFA in Dance from SUNY Brockport in 2014 and is now the Owner and Artistic Director of Frazee Feet Dance; a contemporary dance company dedicated to creating and performing original works throughout the Rochester area and beyond.
Frazee has and continues to dance professionally with companies and choreographers such as the New York State Ballet (2014-2017), Saratoga City Ballet (2018-present), Nacre Dance Group (2018-present), James Hansen Assemblage Dance (2012-2013), Flower City Ballet (2010-2013), electricGrit Dance (2018-present), Project 44 (2019), William Evans (2011-2013), Cheryl Johnson (2014), and BIODANCE (2018-present).
His choreographic work has been presented at events such as the Rochester Fringe Festival, Brockport Alumni Dance Choreographer’s Showcase, Contemporary Choreographer’s Showcase at Dance Days of Buffalo, Vision of Sound New Music & Dance Festival, Dance With Utica, SUNY Brockport Graduation Dances, SUNY Fredonia Senior BFA Concert, “So You Think You Can Choreograph” presented by Nacre Dance Group, the Mid-Atlantic Choreographers Showcase, the NACHMO Studio Showings, BANDchicago, Small Plates Choreography Festival, Youth America Grand Prix, Prix de New York, and other various dance competitions. Alongside creating and presenting his own work, he has been commissioned to create work for the New York State Ballet, MAYHEM//Dance, the Empire State Youth Dance Ensemble, amongst others.
When he is not performing and choreographing, Frazee teaches locally at various dance schools, teaches private lessons throughout Rochester, guest teaches and choreographs at various studios, festivals, events and universities, is an Apprentice Pilates Instructor, and is an Adjunct Professor in Dance at Hobart & William Smith Colleges.
