TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

IMG_7826.JPG
First and foremost, I believe movement should be accessible and enjoyable for all that wish to partake. The dance world can be so cut-throat but at the end of the day dance is an art, a form of expression. It is something that should bring us joy and fulfillment. It is this mindset that I bring into each and every one of my classes with the intention of creating an environment that is open, nurturing, and artistically engaging to all who wish to explore movement in a judgment free way.
I teach an array of classes and styles, but my specialties are ballet technique, contemporary ballet technique, and modern dance technique. The majority of my career as a dancer and choreographer has been spent within these genres of movement which is why I consider them my strong suits. I also teach tap, jazz technique, musical theatre dance, dance composition, cardio dance, Silver Sneakers, Barre, and Pilates, all ranging in ages from 4-adult.
I absolutely love teaching. The ability to share my knowledge and experiences, not just with dancers but anyone that enjoys movement, brings me joy and inspiration to continue learning and researching movement in order to further develop myself as an educator.
"Their instruction is clear, intent of movement well described, and they have a palpable respect for all the dancers present..."
